QUESTIONS: 

 

  1.  What has worked so far in you aquaponics system?

The tank (filters, air pumps) mainly for the fish have been improving. Coconut coir was just added has been of some use.

 

  2.  What has not worked so far in your aquaponics

system? 

 

The styrofoam as the buoyancy device need some improvments. We stopped using plastic cups & water bottles because it was hard to make sure the seeds where at the bottom & getting enough sunlight. The cotton balls weren't working for us at all so those have been completely removed, and replace with a new medium.

 

  3.  What has surprised you most in your aquaponics system? 

 

That the goldfish are still maintained despite the unstable environment. Our team still has many developments to correct. It's suprising a lot of our mediums haven't been working as well.

 

  4.  What are areas for planned improvement? What are those plans for improvement? 

 

Some areas for improvement would be the actual raft system and making sure our team has enough space to place the lettuce plants. Also the medium/seeds needs vigilant watching since it's taking longer then usual to grow.

 

Ways of improvment would be obtaining new support system to put the plants inside off along with the new medium (which has gone from cotton balls-clay-coconut coir) and obtaining enough space for eveything to grow might be a future concern.
